A vintage 1970s Marimekko maxi shift dress in heavyweight cotton features a cool abstract striped mini print in dark ivory on dusty red ground. It's an easy, over-the-head style with no closures—a genius design!

The bell sleeves are bracelet length, with a dropped shoulder. The armholes are a bit tight at 14". The A-line is wide, with no pockets. The V-neck placket has a large peaked collar typical of the early 1970s. I wish I could put it on a model because the style is so unique, and the mannequin doesn't do it justice.
